About Louie

Nice to meet you! My name is Louie, I’m a 19 year old student and I’m passionate about all things edible.

I live in Belgium, where I study Business Administration at the university of Ghent. Growing up as a kid I used to watch a lot of cooking series and read cookbooks written by Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson & Jeroen Meus. I consider them as my biggest heroes, just because they all have one thing in comon: simplicity. By showing that you can jazz up a simple recipe using basic ingredients, they taught the world that a culinary degree is not the only possible way to pursue your sweet (or savoury) dreams.

I started blogging when I was 14 years old. While it was originally meant as a personal database, I quickly realized how enjoyable blogging could be. After I started writing my own recipes, my blog caught the attention of flemish TV chef Wim Ballieu. Shortly after this event, I got the chance to write my first baking book; published by Davidsfonds Uitgeverij. My second baking book will hit the shelves in March 2017.

I hope this blog inspires you to switch on your oven and make sweet things happen. ‘Cause life already short to enough to stick to your sugarfree diet!

Sweet you soon.

PS: If you have any questions, suggestions, or if you think that the sugar ratios in my recipes are too high*, then feel free to contact me at louie@bakedlouies.com
